Great tips matey. But I rather use my canon eos 7d for my weddings
A photographer is defined by his photos and not by his equipment. That camera you’re referring to is not a bad camera because it’s small, in fact it matches SLR/SLT performance.
i used a olympus e-420 with the 14-42mm lens it was great! also try going on the opposite side of the subject and great video btw really helps=]
I hate it when people say “Oh he’s not giving tips, the video is just shameless ad for sony” yet if they see a nikon or a canon camera they’ll cheer on it. FYI people, its all about the photographer and skills not the camera if you think oppositely you so called “photographers” have no talent at all.
i dont like nigels photos at all is it just me?
Ok… Nigel is an AMAZING photographer… But seriously, don’t tell people they can be a pro with that little sony. If a PAID photographer showed up to shoot my wedding with that thing I’d punch him in the face.
hope he’ll use hx9v for his next video.. ; )
Also it’s a prime lens, so in order to change the distance you have to physically move. Unless you have several other lenses that span between wide and telefoto(after the crop factor adjustment),and don’t mind changing lenses several times, then a wide range zoom would be a good lens to have. Just my opinion.
I’m not Nigel, but I know a thing or two about photography.Since you own a7D I’m assuming you know some basic photography principles and jargon so none of what I say should sound foreign to you.Your 50mm is a good lens but you gotta remember your camera’s crop factor and that 50 is gonna turn into an 80(I think) which is telefoto. That’s great for close-ups but you could forget about the wide shots(like the shot at 1:11) unless your shooting from a block away.
EVreyone that wonders what camera that is it is Its Called Sony Nex 5 Its is a little bit expensive camera but as the guy said takes beautiful picture s
r u kidding? its a Sony NEX-5..
alright~ show me the lenses, not the stupid body…
Hi! whats the name of the camera?
thank you sooo much!!! more photography tips would be awesome!!!
Thanks you!
Nice work,great presentation
The fact that he said “you can take lovely shots just like these, its quite easy” just kills the whole video for me. Makes it seem like anyone with a half way decent camera can be a photographer. What a shame.
I used a canon 7D and I am getting a number of people asking for me to photograph their wedding, but the problem is, so many people tell me which is the right lens,. Take the 50mm, one person says it;s amazing, the other says, why are you using that? Being a professional, can you please help me figure out which lens are the best for weddings?
awesome !! i was sweating to death nearly cause i have a wedding shoot this february !! but how you put it men its so easy :O i can relax a bit now !! got all the elements ! ( 50mm 1.8 lens zoom lens and a telezoom lens and a small compact camera how shoots video in HD) just need a flash and a tripod and i’m done
10-500mm lens pmsl
Brilliant! So fun to have a video compilation of all the stupid, aggravating stuff we hear and have to bite our tongues about. It helps to laugh about it in our downtime. Thanks for posting this!
You are SOOOO correct. People who don’t get the humor in this video cannot possibly understand. It’s great to have something like this that can make you pile up all the crap we have to deal with and just laugh it off instead of actually getting upset about it. And bangbongbong – you’ve spent too much time on the bong if you think a rented camera and a relative is going to get you images that can even compare to what a pro can do. Be a pro for one month, then talk smack.
you have no clue
Like I said, you have no clue.
Meh, say what you will but we just rented a high end camera and paid a relative to take wide angle photos incessantly through the whole thing. We have loads of raws and all the time we need to shop them to exactly how she wants for a couple hundred bucks….
You clearly have NO CLUE what you are talking about. Once you have spent 60 hours working on someone’s wedding, we’ll talk. Ass hat.
It’s satire asshole. Take that zoom lens and shove it up your tight ass.
Judging by your attitude it is no wonder you went out of business…
The difference of course being that a limo is an extra and not needed, photography is. It takes no talent to buy and rent a limo.
The clueless bride.
Then maybe you should rearrange your budget to reflect what is actually important. You should be spending at LEAST 10% of your budget on photography.
Dealing with clueless brides is the WORST.
Wow, who is the bigger pain in the ass in this video. Tough to say.
Yes!!
cute animation.. and very nice tip for taking pic…
i really love weddings shoots… green surroundings like golf club is also nice as a venue background.
If yo are interested in photograph ,you can browse my channel ,wish you like it and sub it .welcome to share the recources with each other.Thank you very much.
You know what I love? People who take satire as literal representations of someones opinion.
“My uncle has a camera and that’s what he says.”
I agree that it’s an extreme vision. I wasn’t speaking directly to you with my comment about pricing details but about the majority of wedding photographer sites that I’ve visited–most of which contain little to nothing about price.
I appreciate the work that goes into the job, but the prospect of speaking extensively to a photographer about your wedding and coming to the end of the interview and feeling mocked when they quote a price $5000 over your budget is not exactly fun.
-I wish you were right in the assumptions you’ve made about my business, but you are not. I provide full pricing details as my first response to their inquiry.
Also, I’m always grateful to have the opportunity to work with my clients and always give 100% for them.
Regardless, it’s amazing the things I hear or behaviors I see from people. No one person is like the character in this video, but it is an amalgam of some very common and off-putting things many photographers experience.
If you posted a basic bracket of pricing for your services rather than spending an hour getting someone’s information only to decide that you’d rather not work with them then this wouldn’t be a problem.
I agree that people can be stupid and ignorant about the specifics of your business, but you are supplying a service and the way some wedding photographer’s act the couples they work for should feel blessed that they deigned to show up for their wedding.
Same thing happens on Ebay
.
People want to buy a videogame or movie, and then complain that it costs 5 dollars to ship. Have you noticed how much postage costs now? That gas prices went up? Or that protective envelopes are almost a dollar a piece? Or that because you paid with credit card, now Visa is charging me an extra 50 cents service fee? Shipping an item across ~2000 miles is not going to be cheap buddy
.
10-500mm lmfao……..
